Originally entitled the International Journal of Radiation Biology and related studies in Physics, Chemistry and Medicine, the journal published it’s first issue in 1969. In 1988, the title was officially shortened but still reviews papers from these radiation related disciplines. In celebration of the past 60 years, three board members Nobuyuki Hamada, George Iliakas and Carmel Mothersill put together this special issue that took topics from the first issue and published reviews on how the field has developed today.
